Rosacea can be a very debilitating condition that causes facial flushing, redness and  unsightly small blood vessels (telangiectasia) to appear on the surface of the face, often causing great distress to the patient.

What causes Rosacea?

Unfortunately, the exact cause is not known but a number of factors are thought to be involved;

• Tiny blood vessels that become leaky (dilated) with time
• Sun damage
• Abnormal reactions involving the immune system in the skin, leading to inflammation
• Genes may play a role
